Who I support

You may be:

  • Navigating motherhood

  • Feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or burnt out by the demands of everyday life

  • Experiencing the “loss of me” and wanting to reconnect with yourself

  • A single mother managing the demands of parenting

  • Returning to work or reconnecting with meaningful roles

  • A mother of a neurodivergent child seeking support for yourself and your family

  • Navigating perimenopause or menopause

  • Wanting to return to exercise, hobbies, creativity or social connection

  • Navigating a significant life change where your usual routines and ways of coping no longer feel right

How Occupational Therapy can help

  • Managing overwhelm, fatigue and energy — understanding your energy needs and finding ways to protect and use your energy intentionally

  • Reducing the mental load — simplifying everyday demands and reducing what you have to hold in your head

  • Executive functioning — support with planning, organising, prioritising, initiating tasks and managing competing demands

  • Creating routines that work for you — developing realistic routines around your needs, energy and family life

  • Understanding cognitive changes — strategies to support memory, concentration, focus and mental clarity during motherhood, perimenopause and other periods of change

  • Understanding sensory changes — recognising changes in how you experience noise, touch and other sensory input, and finding ways to reduce overwhelm

  • Reconnecting with yourself — making space for your identity, interests, relationships and the activities that bring meaning and joy

  • Returning to movement and meaningful activities — finding sustainable ways to return to exercise, hobbies, creativity and social connection

  • Returning to work and other meaningful roles — navigating transitions back into work, study or other important parts of life

  • Supporting you as a parent — understanding your own needs alongside your child’s, particularly when parenting a neurodivergent child

Occupational therapy looks at the relationship between you, your environment and the things you need and want to do every day.

Together, we can explore what is impacting your life and develop practical strategies that support you to participate in the life that matters to you. Here is how…

01 - Connection Call

Free 15 - minute call

An opportunity for us to connect, talk about what’s bringing you to For Her, and for us to explore whether we are the right fit for each other.

02 - Your First Session

This is an informal, conversational session where we take the time to understand you, your current circumstances and what’s important to you. Together, we’ll identify and set specific goals that we’ll work towards over the following 6-8 sessions.

We’ll also determine what support looks like - including the frequency of appointments and the setting that works best for you.

Sessions may take place in clinic, online or even as a walk-and-talk appointment.

03 - Goal Review

After 6-8 sessions we will take the time to reflect on your progress, celebrate what has changed and consider what you need moving forward.

We may continue working together or I may support you to connect with other health professionals, community supports and/or services that may be helpful for you as you continue your journey.
